Why do straight hairlines look unnatural?
Because naturally hairlines do not look straight. There are some hairs that are in front of other hairs and the hairline has actual protrusions. The straight hairline can draw a negative attention. This is also true with symmetric hairlines. The left and the right side need to be asymmetric. When it comes to the hairline, it has to be perfectly asymmetric.
How can straight hairlines be fixed?
These can be fixed by creating protrusions in front of the current hairline. Grafts are then placed to fix the hairline.

What is a pluggy hairline?
A hairline may look pluggy if the right grafts or the right instruments are not used to create the hairline. In order for the hairline to look natural, a single hair follicle must be used. Single hair follicle refers to a hair shaft with a single hair within it, rather than containing 2,3 or 4 hairs within it. Single hair follicles in the hairline will look very natural. As graft with two or three hairs used in the hairline will look pluggy and draws negative attention. In the below picture, the red arrows refer to pluggy grafts placed in the hairline (this was done at another clinic). The patient came to Dr. Behnam to fix the hairline. Single hair follicles were placed around the pluggy grafts to make it look natural. The picture on the right was taken one year after Dr. behnam’s repair of the pluggy hairline. Sometimes, single hair follicles are used but the instrument that is used to create the sites is not appropriate. For example, in the picture below, the blue arrows refer to single hair follicles placed in the frontal hairline. But, because an inappropriate instrument was used, it created a divot around the follicle and draws unwanted attention. This patient came to Dr Behnam to have this fixed. In our experience, instruments that are more than 1.2 to 1.3 millimeter will leave certain indentations and these look unnatural when the skin heals up. The hairline is one of the most important parts of the hair transplantation. The picture on the right was taken after the repair. please notice that the single hair follicles do not leave any scarring or indentation. Dr. Behnam’s hairlines are always natural, guaranteed. How are pluggy hairline and hair transplants repaired?

In very rare cases, the actual grafts containing multiple hairs are removed and the individual hairs are dispersed in the hairline itself.

| I had a hair transplant done by Dr Sean in 2010. I never write a review. I am very please. I was completely bald. I had a hair transplant in 2007 by another doctor, but it didnt take so well. I was very skeptical. I was left with big plugs in the front of the scalp. Then, I was referred to Dr Behnam by a friend of mine. I went to see him. I was surprised that he spent 2 hours planning, desining. I was convinced that this is the doctor to fix up my previous blunder. So in Jan 2010, I had a hair transplant. The day went very well, almost painless. The difference was amazing from the begining. It has now been 1 year 3 months, the hair has grown out. Dr Shawn Benham has fixed the plugs. The hair translplant looks very natural. I can go out again. I have regained my social life. The doctor makes such a huge difference. I have already reccommended Dr Behnam to a lot of my friends and consistently have the same results. Highly recommended. |

| I never really considered myself a transplant candidate before now. Anyway, had my procedure with Dr. Behnam yesterday and everything went well. No pain whatsoever and his staff and technicians were professional and courteous, answering all my questions while working efficiently. My only disappointment was my graft count, which was less than expected (due to low density in donor area). After the procedure was completed the doctor explained the lower than expected graft count and even refunded part of the cost back to me. Oh well, I would have preferred the grafts instead, but he could only work with what he had. I would highly recommend Dr. B to anyone considering this type of procedure. |
